Every robust web site should include a CMS for managing content. With literally hundreds of platform options, selecting the proper CMS can be challenging.
Every good CMS shares some common features. Essentially, a CMS provides the owner of the site with tools to manage their content, data and digital assets. It also serves to separate the design, content and architecture of the site from each other.
By having the design separate from the content, it allows you to easily make changes to the look and feel of the site, change menu structure, and even completely “re-skin” the site without having to rebuild every page.
In addition, the CMS should provide tools for managing forms, customer data, and other dynamic elements. It should also be flexible enough so that the CMS itself can be customized for specific needs and requirements.
Joomla CMS

At Tuva Interactive we are Joomla experts. We have built hundreds of sites that use Joomla for the framework for the site. Joomla’s open architecture makes it easy for us to extend its functionality with custom components and modules for many specific tasks.
The Joomla CMS offers the following features and benefits:
Distributed Management The Joomla CMS system will allow you to set up an unlimited number of users who will have access to only their content. As an option, you can set up a queue for reviewing content from certain users before it is published.
Scheduled Publishing A really useful feature will be the ability to create pages that have a scheduled start and end date. This is particularly useful for holiday content, announcements, press releases and newsletters that need to be live on a specific date and time. Also, you can schedule content to expire on a date and time, which would be useful for holiday and event content.
WYSWIG Editor This allows you to edit content without knowing HTML or scripting. And if you do know HTML it provides easy access to that level.
Content Accessibility Because the content is stored in a database this gives you an enormous amount of flexibility in how the information is delivered. Content can be repurposed for any type of delivery required such as HTML (Web), PDF documents, printer friendly HTML, and XML for interchanging information with other systems.
Asset Management This allows you to upload images to the system that can then be used throughout the site. Videos, images, photos, marketing collateral, catalog, support documents can all be managed directly through these tools.
Extensibility The CMS system is modular and allows you to add new functions easily for all kinds of things such as document management, blogs, bulletin boards, RSS feeds, calendars, etc.
Custom CMS Solutions
Sometimes a client has very specific requirements that traditional CMS can’t handle. For example, we had a client that needed to manage a large number of project profiles that came from dozens of sales people throughout the country. These project profiles could have been managed through their main CMS, but would have required that each person have access to it. Our solution was to build a custom interface with its own login page that allows the sales people to upload and manage their project profiles without direct access to the main CMS system. This content data flowed into a database that was integrated into the main CMS system, which allows the system administrators to manage that content.
